Melva P. Orgeron, 88, a native and resident of Galliano, La., died Sunday, March 1, at 2:10 p.m.
She is survived by her son, Peter Orgeron and wife Donna Turknett Orgeron; brother, Guilmo Pitre; sister, Elda P. Vedros; grandchildren, Gillon Orgeron Jr., Peter Orgeron Jr. and Cherie Michelle Orgeron; and great-grandchild, Hayden T. Orgeron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Pierre Orgeron; parents, Rameaux and Paviola Duet Pitre; and son, Gillon Orgeron.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Ladies Altar Society. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, La. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano with burial at Cheramie Cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
