Westside extension right-of-way land acquired
December 14, 2010Michael G. Guidry Sr., 57, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died at 10:12 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010.
Mr. Guidry served in the U.S. Marine Corp as a helicopter crew chief mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 349 and a member of Voiture 40/8. He was a musician and singer for 40 years. He played with many bands and acquired many friends who remember his humor and that special sound – the Train Whistle. He was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona Guidry; sons, Matthew (Melania), Marc, and Michael Jr. “Spunky” Guidry; four grandchildren, Madison, Mason, Kade and Reece Guidry; brother, Kenneth (Ann) Guidry; and sisters, Deborah (Gary) Gautreaux, Louisa (Lonie) Gaudet; and June (Clyde “Tee”) Chiasson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Shirley Breaux Guidry.
He is buried at St. Hilary of Poitiers Cemetery.
