Michael J. Sampey Sr., 69, a native of Raceland, La., and resident of Lockport, La., died Saturday, June 14, 2014.
Mr. Sampey was an avid golfer at LeTour.
He is survived by his companion, Charlotte Mercier; sons, Michael Jr. (Jennifer), Rodney (Tammy), Scott (Desiree’), Todd (Cindy) and Mason Sampey; daughter, Maddie Sampey; brother, Norris Sampey; sisters, Delta Monier and Yvonne Mims; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norris Sr. and Maude Sampey; and brother, Howard Sampey.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Falgout)
