Mildred Duplantis Osborn, 83, a native and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, August 13.
She is survived by one son, Richard Osborn Jr. and wife Kathy of Houma, La.; one sister, Karen Duplantis Verdin of Gray, La.; two grandchildren, James Paul Osborn and Victoria Marie Osborn; two great-grandchildren, Sierra Hunter and Zachary East; her nieces and nephews, Alfred Duplantis, Myra D. Stoufflet, Michelle Schexnayder Boudreaux, Shannon Schexnayder Pellegrin and Jaime Schexnayder; and 10 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Osborn Sr.; her parents, Joseph “Neg” Duplantis and Victoria Chauvin Duplantis; one brother, Numa Duplantis; and one sister-in-law, Marlin Duplantis Neil.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, August 15, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with mass to follow. She will be buried at the church cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
