Milfred L. Pitre, 84, a native of Bayou Lafourche, La., and a resident of Donner, La., died Friday, November 7.
He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Bourgeois Pitre; one son, Hurley Pitre and wife Connie; one daughter, Lorena Pitre Arceneaux and husband Kenneth; brothers, Joseph Kermit and Jesse Pitre; and six grandchildren, Kent Arceneaux, Heather Comeaux, Travis Pitre, Tabitha English, Jennifer Gauthreaux and Kyle Arceneaux; and six great-grandchildren, Trey and Bryce Comeaux, Chelsey and Emily Gauthreaux, Landon English and Cooper Arceneaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wilfred Pitre and Lillian Zeringue Pitre; two sons, Wade and Denver Pitre; four brothers, Shelby, Royce, Andrew and Russell Pitre; and one sister, Lou Bell Pitre Bourgeois.
He was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Chacahoula, La., and retired from McDermott in 1976 after 31 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 till 1946 and was a member of the American Legion Post #354 in Gibson, La.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, November 10, at St. Lawrence Church in Chacahoula with mass to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.
