‘Crimes of the Heart’: Tragedy, laughs

Morris Reynold Boquet, 86, a native of Bourg, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011.
Mr. Boquet was retired from Texaco-Chevron and was a former constable of Bourg. He was a loving husband and dad and devout Catholic who served as an usher at St. Ann’s Catholic Church for many years and loved saying the Rosary.
He is survived by his sister, Jeanette Deroche; brother, Horace “Hawkey” Boquet; sons, Jules (Deborah), Willard (Roberta), Anthony “Tony” (Toni Ann) Boquet and Chris (Debra) Olivier; daughters, Elaine (Lee) Gibson, Harriet (C.J.) Lyons, Mona (Julio “Tito”) Escobar and Melanie (Matt) Marcel; 18 grandchildren, Jules Jr. (Jodie), Julie, Ryan and Michael Boquet, Michelle (James) Saucier, Kayla (Josh) Pitre, Chris Jr., Lori and Kristi Olivier, Tiffany (Mike) Maye, Thomas Boquet, Shane and Aaron (Amanda) Gibson, Tiny (Ryan) David, Amanda (John) Hendren, Julio Escobar, and Wyatt and Audrey Marcel; 12 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah and Ryan Boquet, Tyler Olivier, Ethan and Emily Pitre, Trinity Olivier, Andre Trosclair, Ashton Olivier, Madison and Blake Maye, and Sylvie David; “adopted” son and daughter, Jim and Lynn Bivens; “adopted” granddaughters, Tammy (Carl) Carlos and Jaimie (Jonathan) Robinson; and “adopted” great-granddaughters, Carley Carlos, Taylor and Bailey Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules and Antilliope Blanchard Boquet; wife, Josephine Bourg Boquet; brothers, Ferdinand “Frenchie,” Wills “LuLu,” Howard, Cyril and Alcee “Nick” Boquet; sisters, Lela “Tea” Aucoin, Dulce Olivier, Lena “Toon” Chauvin, Louise Arceneaux and Clara Boquet; two grandchildren, Angela Escobar and Connor Marcel; and one great-grandson, George Boquet.
Thank you Dr. Russell Henry of TGMC, the emergency room staff, especially Danielle and ICU/CCU, and especially Jean and Tessie.
He is buried at Bisland Cemetery.
