June 17, 2014Morris J. Granier, 95, a native and resident of Kraemer, La., died Tuesday, June 10, 2014.
Mr. Granier worked for Maybrother and Bowie Land and Lumber for 40 years. He was a part-time deputy for Lafourche Parish for 17 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and was a good provider for his family. He helped build the foundation for St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church and continued to be a lifelong faithful parishioner.
He is survived by his children, Rudy (Nita), Toby (Garnet) and Nathan (JoAnn) Granier, Dottie (Nolan) and Wanda (Douglas) Cortez and Sandra (Erik) Himmel; sister, Oneida Ockman; 16 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Granier; son, Morris Granier Jr.; parents, Leonard and Sidonie Granier; brothers, Willie and Wilbert Granier; sisters, Odiana Cortez, Cecile Hotard, Elminte Kraemer and Leonise Boudoin; one grandchild; and one step-great-grandchild.
Burial is at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church Cemetery in Kraemer. (Thibodaux)
