Nola “Sal” Fields Traigle, 89, a native of Rebecca, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Traigle will be sadly missed by her family and her bingo and casino friends. She was an avid fan of baseball, LSU and the Saints.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Glynn Lapeyrouse) Doolittle, Catherine “Cap” (Harold) Guidroz, Cheryl Roberts and Cindy (Vincent) Glorioso; eight grandchildren, Larry “Lee” (Vicki Rene) Doolittle II, Jason Guidroz, Jana (Al Galjour) Pitre, Clinton Roberts, and Mario (Cherie Orgeron), Charles II “Charlie” (Amanda), Cara and Joseph Glorioso; four great-granddaughters, Sailor Pitre, Liv Galjour, Brenya Guidroz and Caitlyn Doolittle; sister, Doris “Dot” Moses; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; and her companion dog, “Toby”.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlton “Black” Traigle; son-in-law, Larry Doolittle; one grandson, Brandon Doolittle; five brothers, Johnny, Haze, Albert, Alfred and Sidney Fields; two sisters, Verna Williams and Erna Durocher; and her parents, Dorville and Flavia Pontiff Fields.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Sal’s friend, neighbor and hairdresser, Lori Duet for all the prayers and food and visits. Thanks to Thibodaux Regional nurses, Drs. Chester Boudreaux and Thomas Chiasson and Acadian Ambulance.

Special thanks to Sal’s caregivers, her beloved grandson, Mario Glorioso and her niece, godchild and angel on Earth, Sally Ann Durocher Thibodeaux.

She is buried at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral.
