
LSU survives first-half Tulane scare

Norris John Naquin, 70, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Bayou Blue, La., died Saturday, September 29, 2007, at 10:35 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Gautreaux Naquin; three sons, Ronnie Naquin and his wife Nancy, Steve Naquin, and Jimmy Naquin and his wife Liz; one daughter, Julie Naquin Mouton and her husband Joe; three stepsons, Robbie Dupre, Theryn Dupre and his wife Donna and Darren Dupre and his wife Dawn; one stepdaughter, Dwynne Naquin and her husband Raunch; four sisters, Mary Ann Foret, Audrey Hebert, Patsy Duhon, and Sharlene Naquin; four grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Louis “Boy” and Aline Rogers Naquin; and one brother, Leo Joseph Naquin.
Norris was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. He was founder and owner of Deepwell Rentals. He was a member of the Hercules Carnival Club, King Hercules 1998, and contributed to many charities. He loved to play golf and travel, loved to play cards (Pedro) and tell a good joke. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
Visitation is Thursday, October 4, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home and Friday, October 5, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Louis Catholic Church. She will be buried in the church cemetery.
