September 22, 2011O.P. “Olida Paul” Hebert Sr., 94, a native of Choctaw, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011.
Mr. Hebert was a member of WOW and the Weekend Cruisers. He was a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church in Raceland.
He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Griffin, Elaine Moore, Jackie (Burton) Gaubert, Gretchen (Ronnie) Verdon and Patsy (Byron) Breaux; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Hebert; parents, Olivian and Helen Hebert; son, O.P. Hebert Jr.; daughter, Kathy Hebert; brothers, Elvis, Nobby, Hadley Sr. and Adam Hebert; sisters, Olive Gros, Clarice LeBlanc and Irene Hebert; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Hilary Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland. (Falgout)
