Miss Odette Breaux, 99, was called home by the Lord Monday, December 15, after suffering a stroke at St. Martin’s Home in Baltimore, Md.
She was born in Mathews, La., and lived in Lockport, La., and New Orleans, La., where she was a medical technician for Dr. Perret and Dr. Nix. After retiring, she lived at Peace Lakes Towers and then at Mary Joseph Residence. Following Katrina, she lived in Baltimore where she was lovingly cared for by the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Miss Breaux is survived by her brother, Henry Anthony Breaux and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Octavia Olivia Dalferes and Henry Joseph Breaux; and her sisters, Annette Bertaut, Bertha Hauck, Ursula Chauvin, Argentine Zeringue and Eleanor Thuer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 601 Maiden Choice Lane, Baltimore, Md. 21228-3698.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, December 18, at St. Hilary of Poiters Catholic Church in Mathews. Mass will be at 11 a.m. with burial at Holy Savior Cemetery.
Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
