Omegia “Why” Pharagood Cole, 72, a native of Lafourche Parish, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, January 19.
She is survived by two sons, Brian Cole and wife Ellen of Destrehan, La., and Thaddeus Cole and wife Cheryl of Thibodaux; daughter, Karen Cole of Thibodaux; one brother, Joseph Pharagood of Oxen Hill, Md.; six sisters, Thelma Williams and Shirley Scott of Thibodaux, Rose Meades and Gloria Thomas of Labadieville, La., Louise Percy of Houston, Tx., and Marguerite Harrell of Brooklyn, N.Y; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Cole; her parents, Ernest and Amy Pharagood; two brothers, Lyndon Pharagood and Samuel Pharagood; and three sisters, Edwina Johnson, Everlina Moore and Ethel Pharagood. .
She was a member of the choir at Morning Star Baptist Church. She was also a member of Rebecca Chapter # 23 Order of Eastern Star of Thibodaux. She enjoyed going to sporting events with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed entertaining family and friends.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
