Raymond J. Rivet, 68, a native of Larose, La., and a resident of Raceland, La., died Wednesday, September 24, at 10:43 a.m.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty B. Rivet; sons, Richard Rivet and wife Penelope, Rodney Rivet and wife Jenny, and Ryan Rivet and wife Tatum; daughter, Pam R. Hebert and husband Mitch; brother, Anidas “Connie” Rivet; sister, Betty R. Ledet; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Felicia Tastet Rivet; brothers, Alex Rivet Jr., Gilbert Rivet, Sylvester Rivet, Edward Rivet, Junius Rivet and Roy Rivet; and sisters, Leota R. Bergeron, Teresa Duplantis, Dorothy Sanchez and Margaret Bergeron.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, September 26, at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 27, at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. Mass will be Saturday followed by the burial at Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
