March 27, 2012Raymond Joseph Guidry, 86, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 2:42 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012.
Mr. Guidry was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He retired from Louisiana Land & Exploration Company and served in the 44th Quartermaster Railhead Company during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Houma Knights of Columbus and Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lelia Guidry; daughters, Diana Ledet, Suzanne Guidry, Nancy (James) Bridges and Ray Ann (Shane) Cheramie; son, Timothy (Penny) Guidry; sister, Rita Henry; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Olivia Guidry; and sisters, Vivian LeBlanc, Edith Ellender and Iris Pizzolatto.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow.
Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
