Reuben Charles Bonvillain Sr., 82, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, February 10, at 7:10 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Price Bonvillain of Houma; son, Reuben Charles Bonvillain Jr. and wife Kay of Houma; daughters, Ann Carol Bonvillain Doiron of Houma and Patricia Lynn Shineflew and husband Richard of Biloxi, Ms.; brothers, Paul Manuel Bonvillain and Earnest “Mannie” Bonvillain both of Houma; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Ellis and Mary Magdelan Pitre Bonvillain; son, Thomas Harmon Bonvillain; brothers, Irvin, Columbus Joseph, Donald, Wilbert and Hayes Bonvillain; sisters, Mary Magdelan LeBouef and Dorothy May Breaux; and son-in-law, Michael Doiron Sr.
He was a retired receiving officer at Terrebonne General Medical Center and a volunteer fireman for East Park Fire Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, February 13, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
