December 12, 2011Reverend Clarence Stewart Sr., a native and resident of Franklin, La., died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011.
Reverend Stewart was a former city electrician and Pastor of Triumph Baptist Church. Dignity, courage, faith-filled, strength, Pastor, preacher, teacher, husband, father, grandfather, brother and community leader, are all words that describe Pastor Stewart.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Noel Stewart; sons, Clarence Jr. and Dwayne (Patricia) Stewart; daughters, Carla (Barry) Davis, Jolanda (Christopher) Logan and Sherelle (Reginald) Martin; brother, Claiborne (Evelyn) Stewart; sisters, Idella Lewis, Dorothy Widemon, Myrtle Perkins, Letha Wakefield and Maggie Cole; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elnora Stewart; son, William Stewart; brother, Edward Stewart Jr.; and sisters, Alma Green, Emma Colbert and Ora Mae Stewart.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at Triumph Baptist Church in Franklin. Burial will be at Perpetual Park Cemetery. (Jones)
