Richard J. Knight Sr., 84, a native of Raceland, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013.
Mr. Knight was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who never missed a family function and enjoyed watching sports. He was instrumental in the establishment of St. Genevieve Catholic Church and the West Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his children, Richard Jr. (Sandra), Robbie (Julie) Greg (Lisa) and Tim Knight, Beth (Jeff) Boudreaux and Mary (John) Magdalene; brothers, Larry, Freddie Jr. and Michael Knight; sister, Karen Guillot; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Interment is at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Landry’s)
