Captain Richard P. White, 50, a native of Orlando, Fl. and a resident of Houma, La., died at 8:05 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2006.

A memorial celebration will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 at New Horizon 713 Hwy. 182 Houma.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Young White; his son, Joseph Martin and wife, Tamra; two grandsons, Alexander and Zachary Martin; one brother, Leonard White; two sisters, Karen White and Margaret White Christy; three nephews, Jason Gayle, Jeremy and Jared Kwaterski, and 2 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard R. and Mildred White.

He was a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer, 500 ton Master of Steam and Motor Vessals, 3000 ton Master of offshore supply vessels and was also licensed to operate and navagate passenger carrying vessels.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and he enjoyed fishing.

He was employed with Offshore Specialist Fabricators of Houma.
