Haiti’s hardship helped by local charities

February 15, 2010Ricky E. Labat, 47, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, La., died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2010.
He is survived by his fiance’, Yoki Brown; parents, Melvin Sr. and Billy Labat; sons, Ryan S. Labat of the U.S. Marines, N.C., and Ricky Labat Jr. of Houma; daughters, Skye Labat of Houma and Kenedi Labat of Raceland; brothers, Melvin III of New Orleans and Michael Labat of Los Angeles; and sisters, Rhonda and Marion Labat, both of New Orleans.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy “Jew” and Gladys M. Edwards, and Melvin Labat and Marion Bordenave.
He is buried at Deweyville Cemetery
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
