Riley “R.D.” Dave Marberry, 71, a native of Lufkin, Tx. and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, May 16.
He is survived by three sons, Riley Jr., Alan and companion, Yolanda Markham, and David Marberry; his adopted son and grandson who was his primary caregiver during his illness, Korey Blanchard and Jonah Blanchard and wife, Charlotte; three grandsons, Philip, Josah, and Steven Marberry; one granddaughter, Kayla Marberry; two great-grandsons, Hunter and Jayce Blanchard; and friend and caretaker, Claudia Boudreaux.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean Killen Marberry his parents, Charles and Monique Marberry; his step-father, Pete Lakey; his mother, Myrtle Lakey; three granddaughters, Corey Jean Marberry and Sue and Samantha Marberry; and one daughter, Leonore’ Blanchard.
He was a retired truck driver for over 60 years and loved gardening. He was an avid auto racing fan and a collector of depression glass. A special thanks to Dr. Abou-Issa, Terrebonne General Medical Center, CCU Unit and its staff, LTAC Care Facility, and Chateau Terrebonne Nursing Home for all the care and patience given to Mr. Riley during his illness.
Visitation will be 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Falgout Funeral Home Chapel with Religious Services to follow. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
