Local troops brace for life away from home
January 6, 2010Rita Ann Fanguy Authement, 88, a native of Little Caillou, La., and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 3:46 a.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2010.
Mrs. Authement was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a past member of the church’s Ladies Altar Society. She was also a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Lenis (Cathy) Authement Jr.; daughters, Evelyn (Bruce) Authement and Mary Ledet; nine grandchildren, Rhonda Authement Buquet, Shanna Authement Hoob, Lisa Ledet Martin, Tracie Ledet Defelice, Heidi Ledet Foret, Sadie Authement Bourg, Roman Lenis Authement, Lenis Authement III and Blaine Dupre; 13 great-grandchildren, Shelby Buquet, Christopher Hoob, Whitney Martin, Hayden Martin, Kinslee Defelice, Tiffani Defelice, Sarah Foret, Chelsea Foret, Mason Foret, Zoe Authement, Draven Authement, Dylan Bourg and Ella Dupre; and sister, Della Fanguy Theriot.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenis Authement Sr.; parents, Sylvester and Marie Naquin Fanguy; brothers, Celestin “Boy,” Adris “Dis,” Jesse, Dudley “Dud” and Reginald “Reggie” Fanguy; sister, Alberta “Bert” Martin; and one grandson, Barry Paul Authement.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
She will be buried at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of her arrangements.
