Benjamin joins TGMC medical staff

Robert L. (PaPa Bob) Picou Sr., 96, a native of Donaldsonville, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Friday, June 27, a 10:00 p.m.
He is survived by his son, Robert Jr. and wife Mary Ann Trapp Picou; daughters, Brenda and husband Randy Bazet Jr. and Mary Elizabeth and husband Ray Baudoin; grandchildren, Randy Bazet III, Amy Bazet, Renee Picou Seibert, Andree Picou, Robert Picou III, Beau Baudoin and Angelle Baudoin; and great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Katarina Bazet and Laura and William Seibert.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Fonseca Picou; parents, Norbert Camille and Elina Vicknair Picou; and brother, Ned Picou.
He was co-owner of Great Southern Oil Tools, Inc. and a charter member of the Houmas Carnival Club and Terreaneans Carnival Club. He was a member of the Stinkers, a Duke of the 1956 Krewe of Houmas and the 1956 King of Hyacinthians. He was a musician and invented several wireline offshore tools. He was a fireman at a Naval base during the Korean War and a branch manager of McCullough Tool Company, Inc. He was a parishioner of St. Gregory Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Louis Infant Center.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at St. Gregory Church will the funeral to follow. He will be buried at St. Francis Cemetery #2.
