Rome “Moonie” Davis, 49, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Wednesday, July 22.
He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Davis of Raceland; one godson, Keylam Davis of Raceland; eight sisters, Mary A. Folse of Thibodaux, La., Hilda Reado, Beatrice Johnson, Daisy Triggs, Ora Lee Davis, Rose Gant, Cora L. Davis and Yvonne Beauty, all of Raceland; and two brothers, Roger Davis and Jerome Davis, both of Baton Rouge, La.
He was preceded in death by his father, Octave Brown; stepfather, Simon Davis Sr.; one brother, Simon Davis Jr.; and grandparents, Ben and Dora Jean Thomas, and Edward and Agnes Brown.
He was Baptist. His hobbies included watching football and working at the lumber yard.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Third Zion Baptist Church with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Bell Baptist Church Cemetery in Raceland.
Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
