Trivia players provide friendly benefits with competition

Roy Stanley Smith Sr., 92, a resident of Lafourche Parish, La., died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011.
Mr. Smith was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He retired from Exxon Pipeline and spent his retirement years serving nursing home residents. He was a faithful servant and deacon of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Horace) Porche and Pamela (Eddie) Gaden; sons, Roy Jr. (Faye) and James (Gail) Smith; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Vivian Smith; wife, Evelyn Smith; and daughter, Nancy Richard.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at Thibodaux Funeral Home with services to follow. Burial will be at Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie, La. (Thibodaux)
