Samantha Scott Marcel, 44, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010.
Mrs. Marcel worked at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center. She completed a course at Delta College for Computer Operator and graduated with a 4.0 average. She was a member of the Krewe of Cleopatra for seven years.
She is survived by her husband, Mel Joseph Marcel; son, Mel Joseph Marcel Jr.; stepdaughters, Tony Lynn Blanchard and Mary Lynn Marcel; mother, Mary Barabara Billiot Scott; four grandchildren, Matt, Caitlyn, Arienna and T.J.; brothers, Darrel Billiot and Robin Brunet; sister, Vickie (Daren) Price; godmother, Virginia Billiot; godsons, Brandon Price and Robin Brunet Jr.; brothers-in-law, Eugene Joseph Marcel Jr. and Mike Marcel; sisters-in-law, Rose Thorton and Shelia (Scott) Cunningham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Norris Anthony Scott; grandchild, Jason Blanchard; brother, Charlie Brunet; grandparents, Frack Jr. and Azelia Verret Scott, and Selvina and Eugene Billiot; and father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Lorine Trahan Marcel.
She is buried at Rogers Cemetery.
