Lenten Gumbo served for 20 years, still going strong
March 19, 2010Samuel “Sam the Mechanic” Smith, 57, a native of Baton Rouge, La., and resident of Gray, La., died at 3:34 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2010.
Mr. Smith was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Adrea White Smith; daughters, Ursala Ward, Renata Wallis and Susan Henry; brother, Scott Smith Jr.; sisters, Mary Ray, Shirley Sims and Deanna Singleton; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott Smith and Beatrice Ross; an infant son and daughter; and sister, Olivia Singleton.
Falgout Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
