Sandra A. Carter Jones, 52, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, January 11, 2008.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Jones; her mother, Gladys Riley Carter; two sons, Romanuel Carter and Bennit A. Collins; six stepsons, and six stepdaughters; six brothers, Alfred Carter Sr, Wesley J. Carter, Gerald B. Carter, Romanuel G. Carter Sr., Ronald Carter Sr. and Brian Carter; two sisters, Shelia M. McCoy and Linda Shelby; two god children; and two grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Carter Sr., and grandparents, Lula Johnson Vennible, Romanus Carter, Velma Fletcher and Samuel Riley.
Sandra was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, a member of Calvary United Methodist Church Women of Purpose and a member of American Legion Post # 513 Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies included cooking and working puzzles.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. She will be buried in the church cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
