Shaelynn Claire Nygaard

Shaelynn Claire Nygaard, 2 months, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, October 7.

She is survived by her parents, Brandy Griffin and Douglas Nygaard; brother, Devin Nygaard; sister, Allyssa Nygaard; grandparents, Rebecca and Joey Griffin, Joan Knight and David Nygaard; step-grandfathers, Allen Dumond Jr. and David Knight; great-grandparents, Whitney and Delta Adams and Elta Cheramie; uncles, Derrick Griffin and Nick Nygaard; aunt, Jessica Freeman; and godparents, Haley and Jarred Griffin.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Derris Griffin.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 11, at New Hope World Outreach Center in Houma with a religious service to follow. She will be buried at Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport, La.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
