Solidelle “Sue” Babin Haydel, 85, a native of St. Charles, La., and resident of Schriever, La., died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010.

Mrs. Haydel was a fan of bingo, a Saint’s enthusiast, an artistic painter and the world’s best mom and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Wynoma Squires and Julie Skains; special friend, Juan Martinez; son, Robert Haydel; brother, Martial Babin; seven grandchildren, Vanessa, Lisette, Amy, Michelle, Nikki, Sarah and Stephanie; 10 great-grandchildren, Noelle, Holly, Morgan, Chase, Wayne, Denise, Taylor, Kayla, Eliza and Dru; one great-great-grandchild, James Ryan; and four guard-dogs, Eight Ball, Girl Dog “Ace”, Coon, and three-legged Junior.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martial and Evelina Babin; husband, Thomas “Willie” James Haydel; one son, Michael James Haydel; two sisters, Leona Bourgeois and Clara Pitre; and son-in-law, James A. Squires.

She is buried at St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery.
