Bayou Cane uses grant money for fire safety
October 7, 2010Steven Joseph Cheramie, 67, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Galliano, La., died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010.
Mr. Cheramie proudly served his country in Vietnam while serving in the Army and was a proud member of the United Veterans League, the American Legion in Golden Meadow, the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Dulac and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a board member of the Veterans Memorial District Ward 10, the Heroes Park in Houma and the Vietnam Veterans Association. He enjoyed cutting his grass, weed-eating, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry R. Cheramie; son, Scotty Cheramie; one granddaughter, Morgan Cheramie; and one sister, Geraldine Cheramie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice J. and Ezona M. Cheramie.
He is buried at St. Joseph Cemetery.
