Thomas Oliver Honea, 78, a native of Magnolia, Miss., and resident of Houma, La., died at 7:08 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.
Mr. Honea was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was retired from Placid Oil and Reagan Equipment and was a member of First Baptist Church in Houma. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Gerry Honea; son, Ray (Mindy) Scott; daughter, Vickie (Otis) Purvis; sister, Nell Harrell; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Smiley and Wilmetta Honea; son, Charles Scott; brothers, Jewell and Jimmie Honea; and sister, Elsie Elliot.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Chauvin Funeral Home with services to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. (Chauvin)
