Jail woes continue in Lafourche Parish with tax on hold – for now

Thomas Weldon Oubre, 72, a native of Loreauville, La., and resident of Lockport, La., died Monday, May 9, 2011.

Mr. Oubre was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion and NRA and was vice president of V.H. Boudreaux Senior Citizens Center.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Chiasson Oubre; mother, Eunice Oubre; son, Telly Oubre; daughter, Denise (Cody Martinez) Oubre; brother, Ronald Oubre; sister, Janette Dugas; two grandchildren, Gavin Oubre and Chelsey Carpenter; and one great-grandchild, Jacob Duet.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Oubre.

He is buried at Holy Savior Catholic Church Cemetery in Lockport. (Falgout)
