Tiges J. Martin, 82, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Larose, La., died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 9.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois Ledet Martin; two sons, Murphy Martin and Michael Martin; one daughter, Mary Loupe and husband Vern; three sisters, Hazel Tauzin, Nolda Griffin and Albana Danos; three grandchildren, Holly Bouffanie, Wade Martin and Jared Loupe; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jade Martin and Sadie Bouffanie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Francis and Augusta Doucet Martin; and one sister, Gustavia Adams.
He was a retired Lafourche Parish employee and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He received the Purple Heart and Silver Star and was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling and was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, December 12, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose with mass to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
