Family Fun Fest has something for all ages

Vernon P. Grundmann, a native of New Orleans, LA. and recent resident of Thibodaux, LA., died after a lengthy illness, Saturday, March 24, 2007.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Landry’s Funeral Home. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux, with private burial at a later date.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Edna F. Grundmann; two daughters, Carol Schwartz and husband, Lenny, and Fay Naul; one sister, Elaine G. Woods; eight grandchildren, Eric Schwartz, Craig Schwartz and wife, Holly, Kristin S. Andrews and husband, Chad, Kyle Schwartz and wife, Dana; Jeffrey Naul, David Naul and wife, Tammy, Courtney Naul and Daniel Naul; and six great-grandchildren, Joshua and Justin Di Maggio, Jack, Evan Hailey and Hannah Schwartz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Grundmann; one brother, Lawrence Grundmann; one sister, Stella Regal; and one son-in-law, Dr. Obie L. Naul.
He was an alumni of Jesuit High School and attended Tulane University.
He was a World War II veteran and retired vice-president of First National Bank of Commerce. He had a ready smile and touched the lives of everyone he met. No person was considered a stranger and was made to feel a friend.
