Viola "Va" Jupiter

Viola “Va” Jupiter, 88, a native of Napoleonville, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died at Leonard Chabert Medical Center in Houma, La., Friday December 12.

She is survived by three daughters and spouses, Hilda and Ronnie Cage of New Orleans, La., Alma Rose and Bryan Gardner, and Elvie Jupiter and companion Louis of Thibodaux; three sons and spouses, Medrick and Dorothy Jupiter of New Orleans, Joseph III and Roselee Jupiter of Labadieville, La., and Ulysses and companion Irma of Baton Rouge, La.; 33 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jupiter Jr.; her parents, Willie and Emma Evans; two sons, James and David Jupiter; one daughter, Lena David; one sister, Mattie Jupiter; and two brothers, Wilbert and Frank Evans.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, December 20, at Bright Morning Star Baptist Church in Napoleonville with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of the arrangements.
