December 31, 2009Walter “Nootsie” Duplantis, 43, a native of Grand Caillou, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009.
He is survived by his daughter, Chelsi Duplantis; parents, William “Billy Boy” and Earline Carlos Duplantis; brothers, Frankie (Vera Duthu), Sean (Dawn) and Danny (Jana) Duplantis; sister, Billie Jo (Matthew) Porter; eight nieces; five nephews; one great-niece; two great-nephews; 12 aunts; four uncles; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Oris and Francis Chassion Carlos; and paternal grandparents, Johnny and Ida Chassion Duplantis.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to funeral time Thursday, Dec. 31, at Grand Caillou Baptist Church. The service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church.
