Walter Lee Jones Jr., 65, a native of Napoleonville, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, July 27.
He is survived by his companion, Janice Williams of Thibodaux; one son, Walter Lee Duncan Sr. and wife Melissa of Thibodaux; four stepsons, Keith Pharagood, Kentrell Pharagood and Dwyane Pharagood of Thibodaux and Fredrick Jones of New York; two daughters, Mamie Marie Lewis and husband Nathan of Raceland, La., and Lori Ann Gray of Stafford, Va.; seven stepdaughters, Ashley Williams, Gloria Williams, Nicole Williams, Brandy Williams, Sherita Pharagood, Lawanda Brown and Paula Pharagood, all of Thibodaux; one brother, George Jones Sr. of Gray, La.; one sister, Audrey Mae J. Turner of Thibodaux; one godchild, Rosemary T. Woods of Thibodaux; five grandchildren; and 16 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thersa J. Sanders and Walter Lee Jones Sr.; one brother, Lloyd Jones Sr.; and grandparents, Leona and James Carcisse.
He was a member of Nelson Chapter AME Church. His hobbies included fishing and gardening.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, August 3, at Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at the Young Ladies Benevolent Cemetery in Raceland.
