Warren Joseph Griffin, Sr., 84, a native of Golden Meadow, La. and resident of Metairie, La. died surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, November 10, 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Ciaccio Griffin; four children; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Warren was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church. He was a loving husband to his wife Rosalie for 60 years. He was a World War II Iwo Jima veteran who served as a surgical technician with the 232nd General Hospital. He was honored with the American Theater Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and Meritorious Unit Award. He retired from Inland Steel Container Co. and was a member of the VFW Post No. 3267 and American Legion Post No. 397.

He is buried in Metairie Cemetery.

Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
