Behind basin restoration, Maloz leads
October 24, 2011Webb Paul Picou, 88, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Bourg, La., died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011.
Mr. Picou was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was honored in New Orleans, La., at the National D-Day Museum 66th D-Day anniversary celebration. Life was good and blessings were many for this very faith-filled family man. Those who knew him knew he had a great sense of humor, and was ready to share a joke or two.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Olen Picou; son, Glynn (Dale) Picou; daughter, Mella (Ray) Rodriguez; sister, Lucy Porche; eight grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Picou; granddaughter, Madison Picou; parents, Alidore and Melina Picou; and brothers, Marsand, Isadore, Bruce and Easton Picou Sr.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Saint Frances de Sales Cathedral with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial with full military honors will be at St. Francis #2 Cemetery. (Chauvin)
