Webster Pierce, Sr., 96, a native of Cut Off, La. and a resident of Golden Meadow, La. died Friday, November 23, 2007, at 6:38 a.m.
He is survived by his son, Webster Pierce, Jr.; three daughters, Rose Mary Adams, Mary Ann Loupe, and Peggy Guidry; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Odaia Cheramie Pierce; his parents, Ignace and Camillia Vegas Pierce; four brothers, Harris Pierce, Edward Pierce, and two infant brothers; and one sister, Irene Pierce Matherne Autin.
Webster was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He worked in the shrimp and oyster industry before working in the oilfield. He was a former 30-year employee of Texaco where he made many life-long friends. He was considered by many as a master gardener and loved working in his own garden.
Visitation is Tuesday, November 27, 2007, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. He will be buried in the church cemetery.
