November 17, 2011Wilbur Louis Lyons, 84, a native and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 8:47 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2011.
Mr. Lyons was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and a mentor to his brothers. He loved spending time with his family, playing cards with his friends and going to his camp and devoted much of his time to his community. He was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Lyons; sons, Barry (Patti) and Kelly (Carla) Lyons; daughters, Lana (Ted) LeBlanc and Trudy Matherne; brothers, Willie, Sidney, Albert, Russell and Walter Lyons; sister, Emily Naquin; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vanis and Beulah Lyons; brother, Lawrence Lyons; and sisters, Dolores Dupre and Beverly Domangue.
Burial was at St. Elie Cemetery. (Chauvin)
