January 21, 2014William Caloway Morse, 86, a native of Birmingham, Ala., and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.
Mr. Morse was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He worked for Schlumberger for 34 years as a special operator. He also worked for the sheriff’s department part time and was a softball umpire for more than 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and gardening and loved his grandkids. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores Morse; daughters, Susan Miller, Patti (Marshall) Faulk and Lisa (Tommy) Picou; brother, Leroy Morse; sisters, Doris Thompson, Betty Clark and Shirley Morse; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Morse and Flossie Morse.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. (Chauvin)
