Alexina “Tina” Rodrigue Crochet, 88, born January 28, 1936 a native of Pointe-Aux-Chenes and resident of Montegut, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Montegut, Louisiana from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. The burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Montegut, Louisiana.
She is survived by her children, Ernie Crochet (and wife, Cynthia P. Crochet), Barney Crochet (and wife, Alice B. Crochet), and James Crochet, Sr. (and companion, Rochelle Dupre); grandchildren, Christina C. Boudreaux (and husband, Lance), Christopher Crochet (and companion, Lisa Sosa), Grant Crochet (and wife, Andrea), James Crochet Jr., Cammy Crochet, and Jenna A. LeBeouf; great-grandchildren, Atlas Taylor, Liam Crochet, Luke Boudreaux, Emily Boudreaux, and Lakayla Crochet.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest J. Crochet; daughter-in-law, Theresa A. LeBeouf; parents, Mentor and Fabiola N. Rodrigue; brothers, Emile, Paul, John, and Claude Rodrigue ; and sisters, Viola Dupre, Leola Brunet, and Mayola Trahan.
Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to the safety and well being of children as a school crossing guard and later as a custodian at Montegut Elementary. Her commitment and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
In her retirement, she found joy in fishing along the bayou and forming connections with the fishermen who traveled its waters. When not by the bayou, she could often be found at the casino enjoying her favorite game, sizzling 7’s. She also loved working in her garden and yard.
