Ethel Landry Trosclair

Funeral services for Ethel Landry Trosclair, age 95, of Chackbay, LA will be held Monday, July 8th, 2024 at Our Lady Of Prompt Succor in Chackbay, LA at 11: 00 AM. Visitation will precede the service from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Our Lady Of Prompt Succor. Services will be under the direction of Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux, LA.

Ethel Trosclair was born November 9, 1928 in Harvey, LA to Valmont and Dozilia Landry. She joined her husband of 67 yrs, Hansel Trosclair, in rest July 2, 2024. She was an excellent cook and cared for family. Ethel took pride in her home and made dinner every Sunday to gather her family together. She loved to dance and married the love of her life in 1948. She taught Hansel to dance and they went dancing every Sunday night for as long as they were able. She was a devout Catholic and loved the Church. Ethel never met a stranger. She will be missed everyday.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Hansel Joseph Trosclair; parents: Valmont and Dozilia Landry; son, Darryl Joseph Trosclair; brothers: Roland Landry, Glen Landry, and Valmont Landry; sisters: Shirley Boudreaux, Pearl Rodrigue, Dolores Earmon, and Audrey Guidry.

Ethel is survived by sons: Keith (Amy) Trosclair, Barry (Gayle) Trosclair, and Mark (Lisa) Trosclair; daughter in law, Cheryl Trosclair; grandchildren: Kelsey, Joshua, Jeffery, Jessica, Evan, Tyler, Lauren, Ericka, and Jennifer; 18 great-grandchildren and a host of other friends and family.

Special thanks to the staff and nurses at The Claiborne of Thibodaux and all of her friends she made while she was there. Also thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice for the care in her final days.
