Gloria Naquin

Gloria Naquin, 84, a native of Houma, Louisiana and resident of Gray, Louisiana passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family on December 28, 2022.

A visitation will be held in her honor on Monday January 2, 2023, at Samart Funeral Home, West Park, from 6pm to 9pm and on Tuesday January 3, 2023 starting at 9am until the funeral time starting at 11am at St. Louis Catholic Church in Houma. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Davis Naquin; her sons, Mark Naquin (Mary Ellen), Stephen Naquin (Lisa); four grandchildren, Melvin Guillot (Tiffany), Amanda Naquin Mouton (Shandy), Matt Naquin (Gwen), and Luke Naquin; six great-grandchildren, Vivian, Hudson, Miller, Camren, Makayla, and Kaydence; Sister, Oris Maronge Parker (Earl) and sister-in-law Marie Samanie (Alton); and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Adney Paul Samanie and Ernestine Hebert Samanie; sisters, Myrtle Ledet (Rene), Bridget Babin (Horace), Mildred LeBlanc (Conrad), Lena Daigle (Nelson), Hazel Darcey (Colton), Evadence Boudreaux (Rivern); brothers Norris Samanie (Adeline), Alton Samanie (Marie), Enest “Fat So” Samanie (Aline).

Gloria was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, always willing to help in any way she could. She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church community. She was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Louis Altar Society . She was a member of the TOPS LA 9325 group in Bayou Blue.

The Naquin family would like to thank the Hope Heath care and Hospice, Chateau Terrebonne Health Care staff, Thibodaux Health Care, and all the physicians and nurses that took such great care of our wife and mother. You gave us love, care, comfort and support through this difficult time, we appreciate all you have done for us. We can not thank you all enough.
