Jerrell Matherne, 49, a native of Bourg (Grand Bois), passed away on January 13, 2021.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 12:30pm to 3pm, with a service to start at 3pm, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue.
He is survived by his parents, Dale and Connie Matherne; sister, Annette Verdin and husband Anesie; nephews, Adam Verdin and wife Macie, Justin Verdin and fiancé Rae’ Jean, and Cody Verdin; great nieces, Halona Verdin and Ayla Verdin.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hillmonde and Helena D. Matherne; maternal grandparents, Jacque and Ella L. Nelton.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, music, and riding motorcycles with friends.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue is in charge of arrangements.
