John was an easygoing man who lived his life with fun, integrity, honor, and love of God, family, and friends. He joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from Terrebonne High School in 1959. While in the Navy, he served aboard the USS Hank in the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea and in the Caribbean Sea during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After the Navy, he worked in the oilfield industry until the age of 62, when he retired from GEMECO. Then he pursued his true passion for woodwork, building everything from furniture for family and friends to toys for his beloved grandsons.
As we mourn the loss of John, we also celebrate the enduring legacy he leaves behind. His love for his family, his passion for life, and his kindness towards all will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were privileged to have known him.
