October 3, 2024Rose Mae Dupre Bourg, 98 years old, baptized Marie Rose Aimee Dupre, born and raised up in Pointe-aux-Chenes, pass away on September 30, 2024.
Visitation will be from 9:00AM to 11:00 AM, on October 4, 2024 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1237 Highway 665, Montegut, LA 70377, a Mass of Christian burial will follow the visitation at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Rodney George Bourg, Sr. and wife Cynthia Martin, Byron Charles Bourg, Sr. and wife Melanie Cenac; daughters, Sheila Ann Bourg Aucoin and husband David Aucoin, and Rosalyn Marie Bourg; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren; and her only surviving sister, Joyce Dupre Ledet.
Rose Mae Dupre Bourg was preceded in death by her parents, Filmore Wilsey and Alcidie Levron Dupre; her husband, George Joseph Bourg, who she married on May 12, 1946; son, Lonnie Paul Bourg; brothers, Druis Sr., Ives Dupre, Wilsey Dupre and Eura Paul Dupre; sisters, Lucille Thibodaux, Cecile Ledet, Cedonia Dupre, Verna Naquin, Anna Mae Thibodaux, Eunice Dupre, and Shirley Levron.
She was a member of the American Legion Russell Redmond Post No. 272 Ladies Auxiliary as Treasurer.
Member of VFW Post 7755 Boquet Breaux Auxiliary. Member of the United Veterans League, assisting and participating in Military Funerals. Member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Choir in Pointe-aux-Chenes, and a former member of St. Charles Borromeo Ladies Altar Society.
Rose Mae also operated B & D Bakery in Montegut, with her husband and sisters, for over 20 years, especially baking and decorating wedding cakes for the community and surrounding areas.
She and her husband was dedicated New Orleans Saints fans and Season ticket holders, since the inception of the team.
She is now reunited with her husband George, son Lonnie and her heavenly family. May she rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Her family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the staff of Chateau Terrebonne were she resided over 11 years and H.L. Haydel Memorial Hospice for their services in time of Rose Mae’s needs.
