Stephen Anthony Avet, Sr., 77, a native and resident of Houma, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Loretta Guidry Avet; children, Stephen Avet, Jr. and wife Dawn, Jamey Avet, Timmy Avet and wife Casey, and Ben Avet and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Tabitha, Zachary, Jordan, Kamryn, Haley “Elizabeth”, Addison, Jakub, Jaxen, and Jaben; great-grandchildren, Maycen and Vincent; brothers, David Avet and Sterling Avet and wife Lisa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O.J. Avet and Jewel Truitt Avet; brother, John Avet; and sister, Carol Ann Avet Rogers.
Stephen, Sr. was a proud United States Army veteran, who proudly served during the Vietnam War. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and well-wishes during this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association in Stephen, Sr.’s name and memory.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Samart Funeral Home on West Park from 10:00 am until the Memorial Service at 12:00 pm.
