Sterling “Yank” Parfait, 78, native and resident of Houma, passed away on September 18, 2024.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Genevieve Parfait; son, Lloyd Billiot (Michelle); daughters, Yolanda Webb (Tommy) and Alanna Parfait (Jacob); grandchildren, Layne Pitre (Rosemary), Harley Billiot, Kamryn Billiot, Joleigh Billiot, Lloyd Billiot Jr., Bailee Renfroe (Dalton), Hailee Webb, and Bryce Webb (Aila); great grandchildren, Ezequiel Pitre, Leslie Pitre, Willow Renfroe, and Jackson Renfroe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Alice Parfait; siblings, John “Bobby” Parfait, June Parfait, Pete Parfait, and Janette Albert.

Yank loved Jesus, spending time with his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time on his boat and loved being out on the water. He was a boat captain for many years and also worked as a commercial fisherman.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samart funeral Home of Houma for funeral expenses.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue is in charge of arrangements.
